Hi and Welcome to Acadia University!

My name is Oonagh and as the First Year Advisor, I am here to help all of you with any questions that you may have or assistance that you may need.

Spring and Summer Courses

Acadia is dedicated to offering students the flexibility to study in ways that meet their needs.  Through Open Acadia, students can complete credit courses entirely online, or choose from a number of courses available on campus each spring and summer, from May to August.  Learn more at http://springandsummer.openacadia.ca

Biography

Originally from Newfoundland, Oonagh graduated from Acadia University in 1993 with a Bachelor of Recreation Management. She worked with the YMCA for many years before returning to Acadia as the Community Program Coordinator in 1999.

Over the years, Oonagh has filled a few different roles at Acadia including working with the Alumni Office and teaching in the School of Recreation Management and Kinesiology. Oonagh graduated a second time from Acadia with a Masters in Recreation Management in 2006. In recent years, she has filled board positions with regional, national and international student affairs and services associations. She is currently the First Year Advisor, and part-time faculty member.

Oonagh organises Acadia's Welcome Week activities.
