New Student International Orientation Schedule Fall 2011

All Events during Orientation are FREE for Students

(Guests are welcome to eat at Dining Hall (prices listed final page) or may eat at one of Wolfville’s restaurants)

WEDNESDAY, Aug. 31st

ARRIVAL DAY INTERNATIONAL STUDENTS

Airport Pick up – All Day

 

New International Students Arrive:  Safety and Security – Student Union Building 30 Highland Avenue

(Sign-in and Pick-up room keys - OPEN 24 Hours)

12:00-2:00pm

Light Lunch - Wong International Centre, 27 Acadia St.  (#3 on the campus map)

 

Evening Meal –visit one of the restaurants in Wolfville, or light snacks are available at the security office.

THURSDAY, Sept. 1st

 

8:30-9:00am

“Welcome to Acadia” Orientation: Light Breakfast:  Address by President Ray IvanyLocation: KC Irving Centre, (#36 on map)

9:00-10:00am

NEW STUDENTS: New students meet with the Team Leaders, ASU International Student Representative, the Wong International Centre’s staff and the First Year Student Advisor.  Location: KC Irving Centre, Auditorium (#36 on map)

PARENTS: Parents meet with Parents Program Coordinator.  Location: Acadia Room in KC Irving Centre (#36 on map)

10:00-12:00pm

Getting Things Done:  Complete various tasks such as Paying Fees, Student ID’s, Registration and Banking. 

Academic Advising when you meet with advisors to discuss courses and course changes.  Location: Fountain Commons  (#24 on map) 

12:00-1:00pm

1:00-4:00pm

New Minas Shopping Trip: Please sign up at the Wong International Centre table in the Fountain Commons before 11:30am.  Meet at the Wong International Centre building at 12:45.  The bus will depart at 1:00pm sharp.
