Welcome Week 2012
We are currently working on the arrangements for Welcome Week 2012.
We have been talking to our current students about what they liked about Welcome Week 2011 and what they would like to see for Welcome Week 2012. We have also been talking to staff and faculty and a number of key stakeholders who are helping us with this year's events. This input and even more events planned between Student Affairs and the Acadia Student Union should make this year's Welcome Week the best, most welcoming and safe Welcome Week ever.
Please keep checking back here for more details over the summer.
Some of the events we have started to plan include:
- Exhibition football game between Acadia and one of our traditional sporting rivals
- Matriculation ceremony to welcome you to Acadia
- Deans' Barbecue Lunch
- Academic Orientation
- Class Photograph
- "Mock Olympics"
- Residence Activities and Programs
- "Arrival and Survival" show
- Entertainment in our Acadia Students' Union Building
- Welcome Centre
- Shinerama Community "Shine Day"
- Quiet spaces to relax and meet new friends
- 24 hour support and assistance available
We are also hoping to bring you new exciting events like outdoor movies, world record attempts, fireworks, community activities, lots of live music, debates and plenty of other events to equip you with all you need to know for a happy and successful time at Acadia. We are probably more excited for this year's welcome week than you are!
